1 tablespoon granulated sugar
3 to 4 leaves fresh mint
1/2 lime, sliced
11/2 to 2 ounces Kentucky bourbon (I like Woodford Reserve)
11/2 ounces sweet and sour mix (I use Finest Call or homemade)
Soda water or club soda
Sprig of fresh mint, swizzle stick of fresh sugar cane (if available), and a slice of fresh lime, for garnish
- Muddle together the first three ingredients in a cocktail glass. Add the bourbon and sweet and sour mix and shake well with a cocktail shaker over the top of the glass.
- Pour into an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass and top with a splash of soda water or club soda.
- Garnish with a swizzle stick of fresh sugar cane, a sprig of mint, and a lime slice.
